Ukrainian Book Institute

The Ukrainian Book Institute is a government entity, part of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine. Its mission is to shape state policy in the area of book publishing, promote book reading in Ukraine, support book industry, provide incentives for translations, and popularize Ukrainian literature abroad.

Despite the challenges of a full-scale war, we direct all our efforts to the realization of the set goals and tasks. Our steadfast commitment to the cause is based on the belief that even in turbulent times, the importance of books and culture in general cannot be underestimated. Our activity is evidence of the unchanging power of literature in the face of difficulties.

Founded in 1925, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) is the oldest and largest Ukrainian women’s organization in the U.S., uniting generations of women in activism, cultural preservation, and support for the most vulnerable. As we celebrate 100 years of service, we look to the future with a bold vision: to continue empowering Ukrainian women, safeguarding our cultural heritage, and strengthening Ukraine’s resilience and sovereignty. With thousands of members nationwide, UNWLA remains a powerful force in advocacy, education, culture, and humanitarian aid — driven by the strength of a united sisterhood.
