Deep Vellum Publishing

Deep Vellum was founded with the mission to bring the world into conversation through literature, believing that reading and writing are revolutionary acts that can and should change the world. Today, it’s more important than ever to listen to the voices of Ukraine—a country, a language, a culture that deserves to be more widely known, packed with writers of astounding ability and creativity, some of whom we are so lucky and so proud to publish.

Academic Studies Press

Academic Studies Press is an independent scholarly publisher with a robust Ukrainian Studies series, edited by Vitaly Chernetsky, that publishes award-winning works spanning poetry, fiction, memoirs, historical analysis, scholarly monographs, and translations of Ukrainian literature previously unavailable in English. Since 2022, we’ve also launched the Ukrainian-Language Open Access Series to support Ukrainian scholars working under conditions of war.

The Ukrainian Book Challenge is essential to our mission because it demonstrates that there is a dedicated readership ready to sustain the risks publishers take in bringing Ukrainian voices to English-speaking audiences. Each purchase supports the entire ecosystem—translators, authors, editors, and publishers—who work to preserve and amplify Ukrainian culture, ensuring that Ukrainian literature and scholarship remain in active circulation as an act of preservation and resistance.

JANTAR

Jantar is an independent publisher of European Literary Fiction and Poetry based in London and has been praised widely for its choice of texts, artwork, editorial rigour and use of very rare and sometimes unique fonts in all its books. Founded in 2011, it focuses on compelling, imaginative and beautiful writing, both in translation and in the English language.
