The Ukrainian Book Challenge 2025 officially kicked off on November 1st with an incredible response from the global reading community. More than 10,000 participants from 45 countries have already registered, marking this as the most successful launch in the challenge’s history.
Readers worldwide are discovering Ukrainian literature through our curated collection of over 200 titles, spanning fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and children’s literature. The challenge has gained support from major literary organizations, universities, and cultural institutions across North America, Europe, and beyond.
“We are thrilled to see such enthusiasm for Ukrainian literature,” said Dr. Maria Shust, Director of HURI. “This challenge is not just about reading books—it’s about building bridges, understanding Ukrainian culture, and supporting the country’s vibrant literary tradition.”
